Notro 2006 Malbec

here is a very nice unoaked malbec from argentina. plums and blackberries on the nose. got an earthy note as well, something a little like wet clay. on the palate it is black fruit. the blackberry and black cherry come through without any oak to take away from the fruit flavor. mid palate you get a little spicy note and that is followed by a nice licorice note. for an unoaked malbec, this was not a bad wine. i had never tried an unoaked malbec before. and for the price it would make a good pizza wine, selling for about $9.
