Luccarelli Primitivo Puglia 2005

opened this one the other night as a cap off of a long day. the nose was intriguing. chocolate, blueberry and licorice aromas swirled together. this was going to be good. and i was not disappointed. on the palate, the flavors of black raspberry, blackberry, and chocolate came through. there was also a subtle roasted meat flavor. the tannins were medium, the finish was long and had a tar-like note that came through. this wine begged for red sauced pasta. sells for the nice price of about $10.
